Patna Sahib

Patna Sahib, located in Patna, is birthplace of  Guru Gobind singh – 10th Guru of Sikhs. On the same place now stands a famous gurudwara – Takht Shri Patna Sahib. It is one of the holiest pilgrimage sites for sikhs.

Saija has a branch office in Patna Sahib and mainy clients in this region. I posted details of field trip to Patna Sahib branch in another post earlier.

The architecture of gurudwara building is magnificent and the ambience inside is very peaceful and calm. However, the road to gurudwara is a narrow and somewhat congested lane.
The road from Patna city to Patna Sahib is also not in very good condition and its difficult to reach at this site. I went in a cab and I am not sure if there is another better road to reach this place.

Gurudwara (last picture is model of gurudwara kept inside museum)

This is how life looks in Patna Sahib area:

Food-stalls near a railway station:

A crossing (a cycle-rickshaw, a tea seller can be seen in this picture):

On the way I also observed this decoration on walls which actually is ‘upala’ or ‘goitha’ – a fuel made by cow dung which once dried used for cooking in mud-stoves.
